Why is Drama important?

Why Stage Makers and Why Now?

As a child, we use the power of our own imagination to explore the world around us and make sense of ourselves. The importance of drama is an extension of that child-like imagination and curiosity to the world.

Drama develops emotional intelligence, confidence, communication and creativity in children and young people. These are skills that do not evolve as naturally from any subjects in the traditional education system.

Stage Makers Academy are offering schools a range of services which use interactive theatre and drama practices to help aid the education process in a dynamic way. We pride ourselves in creating a unique opportunity for schools as our programmes focus heavily on drama to support the National Curriculum.

Stage Makers Academy truly believe that Drama is for every child. During each individuals school years, it is easy for young people to get a reputation and these labels can be limiting and hard to shift. Drama reaches children and engages them in a different way which can lead to improving behaviours and social skills.

We have introduced Mental Health & Wellbeing through our Drama Programme 'Mindful Mentor' which is incorporated into a selection of our In Schools classes.
